i never thought that i would actually DO it, but i did. one fine day, i used one of my cookbooks, to cook. that is an achievement in itself ok.
i love to buy cookbooks. especially ones related to kids. and i LOVE annabel karmel. i have a vision of myself looking through them, searching for the right recipe to excite and entice my two boys. unfortunately, that is all i've been doing, going through them. hehehehe... well, at least that part of my vision has come true. until last night.
so i decided to fix some burgers. i figured that was junk food-ish enough for my boys to like. biasalah, kids. or, biasalah... MY kids. and because they were burgers, i could rope in Big A to help make them. anything that only HE can do and not his little brother would be fine by him, thank you very much. i told him to make any shape he wanted and so, all shapes known to man came out ok.
there were big burgers, little burgers, fat burgers, and thin ones that just had to be remade. then he said, can i make sausages? buatlah labu, asalkan bahagia ok. and the sausages came in all shapes too. most were fat on one side and thin on the other, like a tail. hahahaha!
and it turned out... oklah. for a first timer. plus they finished it, wierd shapes and all! so it's true what they say la, involving the kids DOES make them more prone to eating the stuff.
my take? it was fun, provided i have the time. wish i could do this more often and full time.
don't we all?
